John F. Moran CFP®

Director of Financial Planning, Wealth Advisor

John Moran grew up in Baltimore County, graduating from Calvert Hall High School. He went on to graduate from James Madison University with a degree in sports management and a minor in business management. As part of his college career, he spent a semester abroad at the University of Dublin in Ireland.

As John began a career in the financial services industry, he realized that not all financial advisors operate the same way when it comes to the duty that they have to their clients. John's desire to operate in a fiduciary capacity, working in the best interest of the client, is what led him to join Bay Harbor Wealth Management and earn the CFP® certification.

John earned the CFP® certification in 2018. Individuals who have been authorized to use the CFP® certification marks in the U.S. have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when dealing with clients. The mission of Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) is to benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning.

John currently resides in Lutherville with his wife, Kristen, and their three children; daughters, Collins and Miller, and son, Johnny. In his spare time John enjoys an active lifestyle playing golf & tennis, cheering for local sports teams, and spending time with his dog, Bogey. John is also involved in the community, volunteering with the The First Tee of Baltimore and Union Mills Homestead.
